Hey Delights!
A funny or rather not so funny but annoying thing happened to me yesterday.
I forgot to hit publish on the podcast for Day 2 of this series. 😶
I literally woke up this morning at 5:30 to record today’s podcast and realized that I never hit the button yesterday.
It was unintentionally the ultimate set up for today’s podcast topic AND a perfect reminder that a lot of us will need systems in place to get the things we want to do done.
After recording the podcast yesterday I spent most of the morning creating graphics and editing products for a new product series called “Self Defined” for my shop, Black Plant Lovers.
I also made it a point of focusing on my own well-being and mental health and took time to take a nice walk with Joe.

I even took a nap when I came back from the walk. So in a lot of ways it was a really great day.
But although as I am writing this I am chuckling about it, it’s still just wild to me that I forgot to hit publish & literally never thought about it the whole rest of the day.
But today is a new day and I am for sure hitting publish on yesterday’s podcast and the one for today.
And since today’s topic is prioritizing, it seems appropriate to ask a few questions.
What are you prioritizing in your life?
Do you think that you are successful at giving your priorities the focus that they require?
Do you think you have the right systems in place to manage the focus that you give to your priorities?
These were definitely three things that I asked myself this morning after what happened yesterday.
And my answer to the questions is that yes, I know what my priorities are and yes, I have the systems in place but I am obviously not using them consistently.
So a part of me is grateful for what happened yesterday. It definitely set off a huge wake up call for me in terms of prioritizing my time & being systematic about it.
During the original version of the 12 Days of January I spoke a lot about how I manage time and priorities and in today’s podcast I share a couple of other ways.
Let’s get into Day 3…
{My podcast is also on Apple Podcasts}
More detail on how I use the 3 Things Method can be found here.
The 12 Days of January 2021 podcast series features actions that you can take during the first 12 days of January to create habits & rituals that will instantly improve the quality of your life throughout the year.
The name of the series is a play on one of my favorite Christmas carols, The 12 Days of Christmas, which is of course the countdown of the series of increasingly grand gifts that a true love gives to the receiver.
And I chose that because these small actions that you will be encouraged to make during The 12 Days of January are all about focusing on yourself and giving yourself options to make your life instantly better.
