#Rock10For30 {Fashion} Challenge: Day 3 Look – And I Got Locked Out!!

Today was one of those days that started out pretty uneventful. We left for the gym around 7 am, worked out, had breakfast and then Joe went to work and I went to look at an apartment and then went back to the flat.

Since this challenge requires daily photos, sometimes getting them means I take my tripod out on the back porch and snap a few. So, I gathered all of my things, sat them near the door and stepped out to set up my tripod and as soon as the screen door closed, my heart sank.

I had locked myself out of the house. Gahhhhhhhhhh…..Mind you I didn’t have a coat on, I didn’t have my phone or purse because I set them inside near the door. So, after trying to get into the windows, a losing cause, because they have security locks on them that make it impossible to lift them more than an inch or so.

Distraught, I made my way downstairs and around the front. I rang bells hoping someone was home but not a soul could be found. So, I sat there on the front stoop for a bit thinking maybe, just maybe someone will come.

After almost an hour, I saw a car go down the street and a few minutes later it came back and parked in front of our building & the driver got out.

I felt like what prisoners must feel, standing inside the gate, looking out all pitiful like but I said, “excuse me, can I use your phone? I am locked out of the house”.

I guess because she saw that I had a huge camera hanging from my shoulder & no coat on and thought perhaps this is legit.

So, she got her phone out of her car and asked for the number and asked if I tried all the bells at the building, etc.

Of course Joe’s phone went straight to voice mail and to shorten this very longgg story, she, the stranger aka saint sent to save my day, ended up driving me all the way to Joe’s job to get the keys and back home.  She was only in the area because she was supposed to meet a new client who didn’t show up!

I am so grateful to her and instead of sitting outside for hours, I am safely back inside.  Needless to say, I was extra cautious about checking the door locks when I finally got to snap these pics of my look for day 3.

Dress: City Chic | Cobalt Cold Shoulder Top (available in black here) | Shoeties

For this look I went with the black thin strap dress under the ASOS Curve cobalt cold shoulder top (last seen here). To camouflage the bottom of the top, I wore my double peplum belt (last seen here) & I pulled out my Charles Jourdan Satchel (last seen here) and pops of gold jewelry to finish off the look.

I have seriously been living in my shoeties (last seen here)!

This trench coat was a serious score at only $23 from Zulily
which definitely has A LOT of plus size options.
