{Featured} Celebrating My Daughter's Independence! #ValueCards #CollectiveBias #shop
I always tell people that my main goal as a mother was to raise my daughter to be independent. So needless to say, I want to celebrate the fact that at 20 years of age, she has been consistently working since she was 18 and will soon be moving into her own apartment.
I wanted to let her know how proud I am with the perfect greeting card and some pamper me goodies.
I remember moving into my own first apartment at the age of 19 and how exciting it can be and I also know how challenging it has been for her to find just the right place.
And I think we all know how stressful the actual moving can be. Right?
Well my cure all for stress & anything else that ails me, is usually a good long soak in a warm, fragrant bath.
So, to help her relieve whatever post move stress she may have once she gets settled in, I wanted to put together a little housewarming gift with a few “bath therapy” essentials for relaxation.
I have written before how much I miss the ritual of sending & receiving greeting cards, so I definitely wanted to include one with the goodies.
So, I headed to Walmart & was honestly somewhat surprised at the huge selection of $.47 and $.97 cents value cards that Hallmark has.
I ended up getting the super cute card above because it says exactly what I want to say to her, Way to Go Kiddo! You did it! Your Mama is proud! You better had (LOL..joking…well kinda)
I packed it along with some bath salts, lotions, a candle, a bath brush and sponge in a cute fabric basket that she can use for storage later.
And while I love social media & the birthday tweets, etc, an actual greeting card still brings the biggest smile to my face when I receive one, so I had to snag several copies of this card because I know I am not the only one who feels that way and it says Happy Birthday so perfectly.
And besides these, I also picked up quite a few others to celebrate fall (my favorite time of year) and the upcoming holidays.
I am looking forward to getting back to doing this so much more often. I truly miss the connection that comes from taking a little time to select the perfect card and letting others know that you are thinking about them.
