{Plus Size News} Introducing AVA & VIV From Target

Hey Fabs!

{update} the pieces have slowly started trickling into store and some are available online.
{update} I have taken a look at the lookbook and posted some additional thoughts below.

As I mentioned in my piece about the Lilly Pulitzer collaboration three bloggers Gabi, Nicollete and Chastity were working with target on something new for plus sizes and the news was finally released.
Introducing AVA & VIV, the new in-house plus size line from Target. The line is set to arrive in all Target stores in mid-February through March and be available on Target.com on Feb. 22.

This is a sneak peek of the lookbook that they created but you know I love me some stripes, so those pieces definitely caught my eye and I can’t wait to see what else is included.

Update: So after I posted this, I got a link to the lookbook for the Spring AVA & VIV Collection so I wanted to add some additional thoughts.

First, as previously mentioned, I always love a good stripe and there are several stripe pieces that I would totally rock, like the dress that Nicolette is wearing, which comes in the black and white and coral and white. And that tulip skirt that Chastity is rocking is a must have. The cut on the skirt makes it work on any plus size body.
There is a collection of “botanical” print pieces that includes palozzo pants that are not exactly my kind of print or style but they are cute on Gabi. There are some printed flutter tops, which I love and also a lot of basics like t shirts in springy colors, cut off shorts, tanks, ankle pants and trendy joggers and some cute denim pieces; a jackets, dress, ripped jeans, etc.
The swim line is pretty basic as well. I guess perfect for the masses and not exactly cutting edge but it’s nice to see that there is at least color and prints and I would totally rock the fushia one piece and the bikini tops which come in a floral print and a chevron like black and white.

There is also a couple of blazers in black and white and gray but it’s Spring! Where’s the color? Some of their prints would have been great as blazers.

Overall it is a good start, a full collection of pieces that you can definitely mix and match and integrate into your wardrobe but there are no style stars in this first outing, hopefully they are to come.

What say you?

Are you excited about this new Target plus size line?
