{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 13

Happy Weekend Delights!
I originally was scheduled to be on a little staycation this weekend but I cancelled it because although I really wanted to check out this relatively new hotel, LondonHouse Chicago and chill a bit, it was missing something that I just really need to truly relax, a bathtub. So literally at the last minute, like hours before I would be charged a fee for cancelling, I bailed.
I mean because if I am paying my money, I just have to have the things that I need. It’s just that simple. So instead of playing tourist by hiding out at a hotel, I will be immersing myself a little bit in the arts this weekend. I am starting off tonight with Bill T. Jones’ presentation of “Return” at the DuSable Museum of African American History. And I will also be checking out Night Runner at The Theater School at DePaul University and possibly one other performance but I have not finalized those plans yet.

Oh and one of my new things this year is to treat myself to something every weekend. Last weekend it was flowers, which I think I might do every weekend but I started a little early and purchased one of my favorite hand creams last night. I hadn’t used it in forever but the L’occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream is so rich and moisturizing and perfect for these dry, winter months.

Anyway, I hope you are up to something(s) fun this weekend and now lets get this Five Fab For the Weekend started!

Shop: Although we are still in the midst of Winter, I totally have Spring on the brain. That Via Spiga trench coat I talked about in last week’s Five Fab For The Weekend arrived and I love, LOVE it!  I am also currently obsessed with vibrant colors like the yellow of this faux leather peplum jacket and this faux leather moto jacket oh and this high low shirt dress

Wear: Winter weather has been all over the place around these parts but I have been having fun digging deep within my closet & pulling out a bunch of my winter coats & layering up.

I pulled out this fab 3 in 1 coat with the removable faux fur vest, which I although I have had forever although I think I only wore it once before. It comes in like 7 colors and is currently on sale for such a ridiculous amount, that I purchased it in another color this morning.

Watch:  I love movies that feature the arts and especially dance, so I really enjoyed High Strung. It had a lot of the typical dance movies angst but it also had some interesting characters so it didn’t feel so cliche. It is currently available on Netflix.

Read: I am a serious sucker for a good romance novel and with the madness going on in our world currently, I am all for escaping for a while, so in lieu of opening up my Audible, I actually loaded the Kindle app back on my phone and pulled up one of the many romance novels I have on it, The Perfect Find by Tia Williams.

Will a forty-year-old woman with everything on the line – her high-stakes career, ticking biological clock, bank account – risk it all for an intensely lusty secret romance with the one person who could destroy her comeback, for good?

Sounds good…I’m in…

Drink/Eat: It will be colder this weekend, so I will be all about comfort food and yes it’s a little early for Valentine’s Day but I will be pulling out my heart shaped waffle maker and making some waffles.

Cheers to the Weekend!
