{Flashback} Calling All Chubbies Vintage Lane Bryant Ads

I am simultaneously intrigued and somewhat freaked out by pictures from the past, (especially those of old buildings), I don’t exactly know why, (especially considering how I used to live in an apt in a very old, historic mansion) but I am. 

 Anyway, because of this fascination/repulsion, I subscribe to the newsletter from Retronaut.

Imagine my surprise when these vintage advertisements from Lane Bryant from 

the 1920’s showed up in my email inbox.

The ads are aimed at girls who are too chubbie to fit into regular sizes and 

stout women who need fashion that will help them look slender.

I have to admit that I rolled my eyes several times while reading them…
