{Sponsored} Review & Giveaway: Pantene Pro-V® Truly Natural Line
I was selected to review the Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural line by the fabs at the Clever Girls Collective.
My hair has not been chemically straightened for almost 3 years now and while 99% of the time, I wear my hair in a protective style (braided under a wig) and recently I decided that I would also either press or flat iron my hair from time to time.
One of the biggest issues with my natural hair is dryness. My hair is a moisture hog, so I was more than eager to check out this line from Pantene, a brand that I had used for years when my hair was chemically relaxed.
The Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural line is generally geared towards women with natural hair that has a tight curl pattern, and hair that is also prone to tangling and dryness, AKA mine, although my hair pattern is not tightly curled all over but like a lot of other naturals, multiple textures.
- Shine Serum with Argan Oil
- Clarifying Shampoo
- Deep Conditioner
- Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner
- Defining Curls Custard
I tried all of the products with the exception of the clarifying shampoo, which is formulated to help remove build up. I plan to use it at a later date, especially since I pressed my hair and used the Serum and a leave in from another brand and will use various products daily for moisture retention.
Although I have been natural for years now, I have never used a co-wash, so I was anxious to try this one and it did not disappoint and left my hair very soft and I love the smell.
I followed the co-wash with the deep conditioner because I had just colored my hair, so I am in extra moisture/deep condition mode.
The combination of the two products really left my hair manageable and soft. I don’t really like to use a comb on my hair when it is wet or even when it’s dry for that matter when it is in its curly state and I was able to finger comb thru it easily and had minimal shedding.
I then rubbed in the curl custard and added some of the shine serum in my hair. The custard is lightweight and neither it or the serum are sticky and they left my hair very soft.
My hair, still damp with an application of the serum. The picture doesn’t really detail it but it definitely added shine.
I then decided to press my hair (I use an electric pressing comb) before braiding it for the purposes of this review.
Here I am halfway thru the process. I don’t go for a bone straight, I straighten my hair just enough so that I can easily work with my hair. I used the shine serum and it definitely added luster to my hair.
I have only used the products once but overall I am very impressed with this product line and plan to add it to my regular routine of products as my natural hair journey continues.
