{Culture} The Wiz at Theater Wit Chicago

As I mentioned in my Things I am Looking Forward to in March post, I went to see a production of The WIZ at Theater Wit here in Chicago a few weeks back and I realize that what I am about to say may seem extreme but…the production was AMAZING and dare I say, almost better than the movie.

It was the tiniest of stages and honestly when I first arrived I was like, ummkay…because it wasn’t a stage where they could roll out a bunch of scenes or props and frankly, the stage is blah.

But I was so pleasantly pleased by this production.  They took the classic production and gave it new life. They modernized it but stayed true to the story that we all know and love and it was just so much fun. And this is why I support live theater so much. It is so amazing what they are able to pull off night after night, sometimes multiple times a day. It is just awesome.
