{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 12
Welcome to the first volume of the Five Fab For the Weekend for 2017! I am working on editing my first interview for the CurvaCast and I am excited to share it with you.
Shop: While it may not feel like it but Spring will be here before and Eloquii is having a buy 3 get 50% off sale so I did a little shopping this morning to pick up a few Spring things. I love this cold shoulder wrap dress. It also comes in green and I almost got that color but I own several green dresses but not one coral dress in this tone, so I went with this color.
UPDATE: I ordered this dress and it was just as beautiful in person as on the picture but the straps were so ridiculously long that there was no way to wear it (check out the reviews on the site). I thought about altering it but I decided against it and returned it. And that really sucks because it is a beautiful piece but there was obviously some manufacturing issue with the straps.
And Every since I wore that beautiful red dress with the amazing flared sleeves, I have kinda become obsessed with the style, so expect to see lots of flared sleeves on me in the months to come. To start off this flared journey, I snagged this poplin bell sleeved tee.
And while I own a LOT of coats, I don’t own a plain white one, so being able to snag this beautiful bow coat for $40 was 💖. I love the simplicity of it.
Wear: The weather is unseasonably warm here and I am going to the Chicago Women’s March here tomorrow so I’m going to keep things light and I will probably wear an almost identical look to this one I wore last fall. I love my cape trench jacket and I will pair it with a long sleeved top, jeans and simple shoes because there will of course be lots of standing and walking.
And speaking of trench coats, if you are looking for one, NOW is the time to get one. I love that we can now get them in plus sizes in a variety of colors, fabrics and prints. Here are a few of my favorites, and several of them are STEALS at under $50!! I had to buy this double breasted Via Spiga because it looks AWESOME and is under $25 in my size!!!
Watch: I went to see Live By Night yesterday and it is a MUST SEE! Bravo to Ben Affleck and the cast. I really loved it.
Read: I purchased Jodi Picoult’s Small Great Things: A Novel a few weeks ago to listen to on Audible and it sounds like it is sooooo good. I am looking forward to actually starting to listen to it.
The synopsis: Ruth Jefferson is a labor and delivery nurse at a Connecticut hospital with more than twenty years’ experience. During her shift, Ruth begins a routine checkup on a newborn, only to be told a few minutes later that she’s been reassigned to another patient. The parents are white supremacists and don’t want Ruth, who is African American, to touch their child. The hospital complies with their request, but the next day, the baby goes into cardiac distress while Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?
While I purchased the audiobook, it is of course available in every other format, ebook, hard & soft cover also.
Drink/Eat: I might be making another variation on the vegan mac and cheese burger that I mad and it definitely feels like I am going to need a couple of good drinks this weekend. A Long Island Ice Tea would surely do the job,
