{Five Fab} For the Weekend Vol. 5
Happy Friday delights! November has arrived and I am getting more and more excited for the holidays to come. This weekend we “fall back” and get an extra hour of daylight. Which is such a good thing for this very early to rise, morning person, because dark mornings are no bueno.
Yesterday the Big O, revealed her annual Oprah’s Favorite Things and there are definitely a few items that on her list that I would LOVE to have. What about you?
And side note, doesn’t Oprah look FABULOUS? Love. Her. Anyway, now on to the Fab Five of this weekend…
Shop: I am all about that snuggle life during this season, so I am pulling out some of my favorite pajamas and looking to add a few new ones to the mix. I completely love this plaid pajamas set. It’s just the quintessential must have for this time of the year.
Wear: The weather has been AMAZING so I have been working out outside as much as possible and currently I am pretty obsessed with bike riding. Thankfully Chicago has become so bike friendly that we have bike lanes, paths and trails all over the city to get your bike on, on.
I LOVE cute, well fitting workout clothes and yesterday I rocked some of my favorite bright, colorful leggings (similar options here), my Nike Dri-Fit top (which comes in 10 colors & helps to keep you dry and warm) and my “fierce” tank I snagged from Old Navy last year and Joe & I went out for a great ride.
Read: A part of me feels like I need to hand over my reading card because I have never read any of Zadie Smith’s work but I am going to redeem myself and my errant reading ways and I am going to do so with her book On Beauty: A Novel.
On Beauty is the story of an interracial family living in the university town of Wellington, Massachusetts, whose misadventures in the culture wars-on both sides of the Atlantic-serve to skewer everything from family life to political correctness to the combustive collision between the personal and the political.
Watch: Technically I am not really a scary, thriller movie kind of a girl but I amazingly watched Hush all. by. myself. and I totally loved it.
Author Maddie Young (Kate Siegel) lives a life of utter isolation after losing her hearing as a teenager. She’s retreated form society, living in seclusion and existing in a completely silent world. But one night, the fragile world is shattered when the masked face of a psychotic killer appears in her window.
Drink/Eat: I have not always been a pomegranate fan but as I have aged, I have definitely started enjoying it in a variety of ways. And this dark chocolate pomegranate granola parfait looks so delicious.
