{Life} 3 Ways To Break The Blues #NaBloPoMo

Hello lovelies…

It’s the first day of the December #NaBloPoMo and as mentioned here, in addition to regularly scheduled posts, I will be responding to the prompts that Blogher posted for the month.
Today’s prompt:

What do you do when you’re down to bring yourself a little joy?

My down days are more like down caves. I can get really deep in them & because I am a loner by nature, I tend to want to be left alone but thankfully down days are rare as of late for me. When they do hit me, there are a few simple pleasures that add a little joy & sparkle back to my world.

Music truly can feed the soul and when I am down, some good music, especially dance music definitely helps lift my spirits. I created my Curvatude Travels Vol 1 playlist  to get me through the joy of traveling 😉 but it includes the kind of music that I am speaking of. You know, the kind that you can’t help but dance & sing along to and feel better.

And movies. I love all kinds of movies but during my Joe Joe’s last few weeks of life back in December of 2012, I couldn’t sleep much and I ended up watching the most unlikely movie called Dear Santa over and over again ’til the wee hours of the morning for weeks. It was just such a big comfort to me and I don’t know why. I still watch it to this day, all year round and it still has the same calming, comforting effect on me, although the first time I watched it months after my doggie was gone I cried an endless river.

And folks who know me know I LOVE my soaks. A long…long bath…in addition to soothing my achy body, truly is the cure-all for whatever ails me.  There is just something about submerging myself in bubbles and hot water for hours that centers me and allows me to get outside of my woes, quiet my heart and mind and remember joy.

Let the much needed sequester & soak begin… pic.twitter.com/yZDO5f6f
