The holidays are over and sadly they are no longer playing xmas songs all day on the radio (boo hoo) but of course we have our memories…here are a few of mine…
Christmas day, I was in total casual mode but added my fur collar (last seen here) for a little holiday cheer.
As per usual, we had to go and get food to eat to take to my parents house because they never have anything that we can eat, especially now that Joe is pretty much vegan and I am working my way there…
And although some folks were missing, like my rugrat who had to work on xmas day,
I made sure I took my tripod with me so that we could snap a family pic…
Look at my ma mere with her red xmas socks and bending her “bionic knees” which just
weeks ago caused her so much pain…she has triumphed over so many health issues…
I am so grateful to have her…
As mentioned
here, I made a DIY Advent calendar.
The little envelopes and mini clothes pins were both from
The Container Store and the labels were from the suck ya in dollar and more section at
Target. I just stenciled the dates onto each label and made the tree limbs out of folders. Easy peasy…although getting the tree the right length/width took a little time…
Because our lives tend to be pretty crazy, we didn’t actually get to do as many of the activities that I included as I had hoped but we have decided to just do some of them in January.
Yeah, we make our own rules…LOL…
We did of course put the tree up and we also went to see the Joffrey Ballet perform The Nutcracker and caroling in Millennium Park…
The kid and I had a fun time at Randolph Market and took some fun pics at the Folio booth…
I also had to have some quiet moments…or I would have been super grinch *itch
I loved having this little Christmas tree on the side of the bed
and the lights strung on my headboard add such a relaxed vibe to the room …
I think I will keep them there all year…
The season comes and goes so fast…I feel so completely blessed…
