and sharing the news about their #OneForOne movement. Learn more on my featured posts policies here.
I am geeked to share that TOMS, the company we all know & love for their generosity around the
world via their shoe & sight giving programs (and their super cute shoes) has made a commitment to give at least one million pairs of new shoes to children in the United States by the end of 2014.
Founded in 2006 in an apartment in Venice California, TOMS has given away over 10,000,000 shoes globally as of June 2013 and expects to give 10,000,000 more shoes to children in need during the next 18 to 24 months.
With the TOMS Shoes: Giving Back in the U.S #OneForOne program, TOMS shoes will
be given to children in 35 states in America and the gift of sight will be provided to children in need in 3 states.
TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie says that since the companies inception, “it was my goal to give sustainably in the U.S” and that TOMS is “now at a point where we have the learning, resources and Giving Partners in place to responsibly give in the U.S.
TOMS recognizes that the gift of new shoes will help better equip children for school
& physical activities and help increase their self esteem, so they will be providing
three types of shoes (not for sale) to accomplish three different goals.
