{Beauty} EDEN Bodyworks in Chicago

Note: In my effort to be a good little blogger, I wrote the majority of this post during the event but I held off on posting it because I wanted to wait until I could add my thoughts about the product that I received in my goodie bag. Butttt….since I left it in Tori’s car and who knows when I will actually get it, I am just posting this without it and hopefully at some point I will get to use and review the product.

The EDEN Bodyworks team presented a panel on the elements of style: fashion, hair and beauty.

The story behind the brand is pretty impressive. Jasmine Lawrence was just 13 years old when she created the first product in 2004 and the brand has grown to 15 products currently in their beauty arsenal.

I had been aware of the brand for a bit now, having seen them on twitter and various blogs but I hadn’t tried their products. This presentation has definitely peeked my interest even more and I can’t wait to try it, if only someone would bring my bag to me…hint, hint…TORI!!!!

During the evening, I hung with my girls Aeleise of Hair Love Art, (who is soon going to do something major with my hair!!!) and of course Tori (aka Lucille) of Glasses and Glitter.

There was lots of fabulously coiffed and stylish ladies on hand.

There was a panel and models presented to discuss current fashion trends, various aspects of hair care and of course the EDEN Bodyworks products, in particular their new line, the Coconut Shea collection.

My hair is natural and I have been mainly wearing wigs for the past 2 years because I just haven’t found the perfect style that suits me yet.  I originally told Aeleise that I wanted her to cut my hair short like hers but after the conversation at the event, I think I may have changed my mind again.
Ylorie Anderson, the host of the evening is a straight natural and the more I listened and thought about it, the more I thought it would probably be the best solution for me.  I try a lot of products and spend hours dealing with my natural texture but because my natural texture is actually made up of 3 different textures, I just braid it, rock wigs as my protective style and keep it moving.

Hair chronicles to be continued…
