{Shopping} Small Business Saturday- Fab 5+ Fab Chicago Picks

This Saturday is Small Business Saturday and as I noted last year, there are so many fabulous small businesses that could definitely benefit from our bucks.

My goal this year is to spend Saturday only shopping small, so I want to highlight several small, women owned businesses that I love and always try to support that are located here in Chicago.

They are all hardworking entrepreneurs who have added so much to the shopping options in our fab City!

The owner Jessica, is the sweetest most down to earth woman. I love her boutique because she stocks what I call “urban chic”, fun, trendy & party perfect pieces. She will also soon be getting in some of the haute new pieces from MonifC and Jibri (also women owned small businesses) so if you have never tried these brands but always wanted to, here is your chance to go and touch and feel and try them right here in Chicago.

There is a reason that Chandra, the proprietor was featured by the Big O{Oprah’s Big Book of Happiness}. She has nurtured a lovely business where you can go and be reminded of how much you love and miss the simpler things like writing a note or sending off a little trinket. In addition to that, you will find that she is as I noted in my recap of the event I held at Greer, one of the most open and genuine people you will ever meet.

KFleye – When Kelley named her business “K-Fleye” I could not think of a more appropriate play on words. She is so fly & her work is so creative and textural. She utilizes a fab mixture of metal, stones, gems, skins, etc. I own some of her awesome pieces. Check out a couple here and here.

Like Kelley, Alysse is a metal works powerhouse. She started off working with fashion but how lucky for us, she moved on to jewelry.

vive la femme – 2048 N. Damen – Small Business Saturday Special: The first five customers to come in on Saturday and make a purchase of any amount get an awesome salt scrub sample AND three free yoga classes at Ganesha Yoga (another local woman owned business to support that I will also be profiling soon!)

You can not spend time with vive’s owner Stephanie without laughing & having a good time. And she has been the plus size fashion domain for Chicago for the past 10 years! She stocks a great variety of work, play & workout wear.
