{#fbff} oh you fancy huh?
it’s been a minute since i have added my 2 cents to an FBFF post but this weeks topic was one that i thought would definitely bring about some interesting opinions so i am throwing mine out there as well.
apparently some bloggers are posting about only rockin items once, so this weeks topic is “The One-Time Use Phenomenon”. why this is being called a “Phenomenon” i don’t know, but it inspired my title of this post, so, roll with it…
1. Are you a one-time wearer? – no & yes. if i have rocked something once, it definitely wasn’t because i have an issue with repeating. most of the time it could have been fit or it turned out that i just didn’t love it as much as i thought, or hell it could have just gotten lost in the closet cave after the first wearing.
2. Do you feel the need to purchase something new for an evening out or a special event? – it depends on the event but most of the time i can usually find something in my closet but if nothing is working for me, i will go on the hunt to get something that does without hesitation.
3. Re-mixing is something a lot of bloggers are proud of being able to accomplish – are you a re-mixing pro or do you shy away from posting items frequently? Why? – well if i posted OOTDs more often, you would see a slew of remixing because i have some things that i really love, so i rock them way hard. like this incredible jacket here which i am going to wear till the threads run bare. and my black sequin skirt, which has made a few appearances, like here and here i wear it day and night. dressy and casual.
4. Do you have a clothing budget or are you an impulse buyer? – i have historically been a major impulse buyer. i am ALWAYS in the shops checking out the latest and that generally always lead to some kind of purchase. but in january i put myself on a shopping budget and it has been a tremendous salve to my impulsive nature.
5. Do you find yourself bored when reading a blog in which clothing items are often remixed and appear frequently? – no. why would a person? to me that’s showing how creative you are with your drag. i did a rockin 10 for 30 project where i rocked 10 items for 30 days (i am planning to do another one soon) and it really showed me that you can work and rework anything but that it takes a lot of work to keep it fresh, so kudos to folks who do it all the time.
in closing, if folks are rocking things once, why care? who is it hurting? if they got it like that, more power to them…there are just so many other, way more important things to concern myself with, like what am i wearing today as i stare at my closet!!!
