{events} we came, we saw, the SodaStream’d #CBNSodaStream

we, the members of the Chicago Blogger Network were invited by Soda Stream, the ingenious soda machines people, to check out their setup at the International Home & Housewares Show.

the special guest on opening day was none other than miss “every second of your destiny is just waiting for you to show up“, Jillian Michaels, who was really sweet and even picked up my clutch that i dropped after taking the picture of us and said to me “here you go baby”.

anyway, once i composed myself, it was presentation time and Jillian shared her thoughts on making choices to live a healthier life, her experience with SodaStream and how she learned about it (from Bob Harper).

in case you aren’t aware, SodaStream is in technical terms, a home carbonation system, aka a kick butt way to make your own sparkling water or soda at the flat (can you say more money for shoes???!!)

i have seen the machines in bath and body and thought oh cool but to actually get to taste the product it makes and see how simple it is took that cool factor way up.

like i need one…like yesterday!

they have a whole slew of flavors from diet to energy to teas.

i went with ginger ale, which is my main soda of choice.

a couple of presses of a button and tap water went from plain ol to bubbling carbonated. add to that the ginger ale sodamix and gulp, gulp…ahhhh. a really great tasting drink, all in like less than a minute.

and while great tasting ale is one thing, it’s a plus to think about how using the SodaStream leads to less waste filling our already overstuffed landfills.
