Curvatude in the Stores: Avenue

I tweeted this Shawl Collar Draped Dress from Avenue a while back because the pictures on the website made me totally love it.

Well, I finally picked the one that I ordered up from the post office yesterday and I am so disappointed.

Here’s why.

The material–> its so shiny and polyestery. and mind you i have a lot of pieces made from polyester and they don’t look like this.

When i opened the package my honey asked “is that a night gown?”

Need i say more?

And take a look at the picture from the website of the front of the dress and how it cinches inside along the collar and pleats out.

As you can see, the dress i received is nothing like that.

The dress actually has a band in the middle and seams around the breast area.

This is a first for me. i have never purchased an item online only to receive a totally different item upon arrival.

And I would have never expected this from an established company.

Very disappointing.
