Curvatude in the Stores: Lane Bryant
Yesterday I went downtown to run a couple of errands and spotted the Drape front ponte dress from our Icon Collection in the window at Lane Bryant.
I loved the way that it draped so I took a quick detour from the business at hand to go in and try it on.
There were only two of the dress remaining in the store. One a size 24 and the other a size 16. The sales girl said that they flew out of the store.
Anyway, I decided to give the 16 a try.
I would definitely get this dress in a size 18 because it hugged my hips a tiny bit too much, which takes away from the drape of it.
Verdict: I love the style of the dress. My only gripe is that I really wish that they would have gone with another material instead of the polyester/rayon/spandex blend. It just loses some of the flow of the drape effect in this fabric.
Also a few weeks ago I also tried on this Belted sweater dress but i never got around to blogging about it.
Verdict: I like it. I think its very “diva-ish” with the wide sweeping butterfly sleeves. The sweater material is not too heavy and I could see this being worn dressed up or down.
Oh and I almost laughed out loud when I saw this Jaquard jacket which totally resembles the coat that I thrifted for 5 bucks a week or so ago.
Mind you the cell phone pictures that I took of both jackets really do not do them justice.
They both are really funky fab in person.
